Snack time is the most awaited time on a weekend. More so when there is a cricket match to follow and the kid and hubby look forward to eating something crisp and scrumptious. These Sago snack was one such treat for them last week.
Ingredients;
(makes 20 balls)
- One cup Sago/sabudana
- 1/2 cup potato
- 1 small onion
- 2 tsp. red chilly powder
- 1 green chilly
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
- Salt as desired
- 1/2 tsp. roasted cumin powder
- 2 tbsp. Fresh coriander leaves
- Oil for deep frying
Method: Boil potatoes in very little water till they are tender. Soak sago or sabudana in one cup of water for about 20 minutes. Take out the sago and put them in a large vessel. Peel and mash potatoes. Add all the ingredients in the sago vessel except the oil. Mash and mix all the ingredients well to form a dough.
Heat oil in a wok and make small balls from the above dough. Deep fry the sago ball in small batches till they turn goelden brown in color. drain them on a tissue paper.
Serve the Sago snacks with coriander, mint or tomato chutney.
Notes;
- I have added various ingredients to the soaked sago to make different Snack. Cooked rice, soaked beaten rice (poha), sweet potato, yam and so on. And each tasted equally scrumptious!
- Makes a delicious starter for your party.
