These Brown rice spicy pooris make a good lunch box meal when packed with a chutney or spread. Healthy and easy to make they can be taken for picnic or as a great travel food too. I often make these crisp pooris at dinner time and serve them with spicy curd potato or channa masala.
Ingredients;
(makes 10 puris)
- 1/2cup brown rice flour
- 1/2 cup wholewheat flour
- 1 tsp of chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp of cumin powder
- 3 tsp of shredded coriander leaves
- 1/4 tsp. of salt
- 4-5 tsp of curd
- water to knead the dough
- 2 tsp. of oil
- 1/4 tsp. of Turmeric powder
- Oil for deep frying
Method: Take both the flours in a big vessel and add all the ingredients into it. Make a hard dough for pooris. Heat oil in a kadai.
Take small marble sized balls from the dough and roll it into small circles. Make all the pooris like this to save time when frying them.
Fry all the pooris in small batches in the hot oil till they turn brown and crisp.
Serve these Brown rice spicy pooris with any chutney or tomato sauce. Try this Brown Rice Paella from Lite Bite;
