Kids' Delight - Spicy and crispy Breakfast

Planning for a great breakfast which is accepted by the kids also is a daring job for all moms. These crispy and delicious looking small Indian bread or Pooris is one such treat my kids wait for any time of the day. I often make them on weekends and sometimes pack them in my kids lunchbox as well.

 Ingredients:
(makes about 20 small servings)

1/2 cup wholewheat flour
1/4 cup chickpea flour or Besan
2-3 tsp. of semolina or Suji
1/4 cup of shredded Spinach or Palak
Salt as desired
1/2 tsp. of Chilly powder
1/2 tsp. of Cumin powder
1/4 tsp. Garam masala (optional)
4-5 tsp. of thick Curds
Water to knead the flour
Oil for deep frying

Method:  Take both the flours in a big vessel and add all the ingredients except the water and oil in it. Mix it thoroughly. Add water little by little and keep binding the dough slowly.
The dough should not be too soft, else the Pooris will not come out crispy.
Take a small ball (marble size) from the above mixed dough and dust it with dry flour. Put it on a hard board and roll it out in small circles. Keep them small in size. It may not roll in a perfect circle as the dough is of hard consistency.
Make all the circles in a similar way and keep them aside.
Heat oil in a wok and deep fry these small circles one by one till they turn golden in color and are cooked.

These spicy &crispy Indian Bread makes a scrumptious Breakfast. Pack them in your kids' lunchbox with cheese spread or tomato sauce.
