Lentil Crispy Snack

Lentil Crispy Snack is a delicious any-time snack. This snack is normally made with one kind of dal or pulse, but I try to include little bit of each pulse to make this snack.
Lentil Crispy Snacks are very crisp from outside and soft inside. It makes a scrumptious starter for any party, and is a good comfort food on a rainy day.

Ingredients;
(makes 20-25 pieces)
3 tbsp of whole green gram (moong dal)
1 tbsp of de husked black gram ( dhuli urad dal)
1 tbsp of lentils (masoor dal)
1-2 green chillies
1 tbsp coriander leaves
salt as desired
A pinch of asafoetida powder
1 small onion (optional)
1 tsp of whole black peppercorn (Kali mirch)
Oil for deep frying

Method: Wash all the pulses and soak them in water for 20 minutes. Wash and shred the coriander leaves & green chillies. Peel the onion and slice it very fine.
Grind the soaked pulses in a mixie coarsely using very little water.
Take out in a vessel and add salt, sliced green chillies, shredded coriander leaves, asafoetida powder, whole peppercorns, and the diced onion. Mix it thoroughly and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a wok till it is very hot. Take a spoon and scoop out a small dollop of the pulses mix, pour it gently in the hot oil. Put 4-5 of such crispies in a batch and fry. Let it cook, turn the crispies to other side and let it fry till it becomes golden brown in color. Take off the hot oil, and put them on a tissue paper.

Serve hot with tomato sauce or fresh coriander leaves spread.

Try Soy Potato Snack for a healthy option.
