This eggless cake recipe is quite easy to bake and can be adapted well to cook a steamed version of cake.
I use the same batter to fill small aluminium moulds and steam them in a pressure cooker (without vent) for about 20-25 minutes.
- 1 ½ cups All purpose flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup milk
- 5-6 Dates
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. Vanilla essence
- 1 tsp bakig powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Chocolate sauce to garnish
Preheat oven to 190°C and grease a cake pan.
Sift flour, with baking powder and baking soda.
De-seed the dates and chop them finely.
Pour milk, yogurt and oil in a large bowl and whisk with a
beater.
Add flour mixture, vanilla essence, chopped dates, vinegar in the bowl and
fold all the ingredients with a fork to combine.
Pour the batter in the cake tin (I used my pudding pan to get this lovely shape) and bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or till a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.<

Transfer the cake tin on a wire rack and let it cool.
Drizzle chocolate sauce over the cake, slice and serve.
